As the Jammu and Kashmir has gone for last and 4th phase of legislative assembly polls on Sunday for 18 assembly seats on that very other side candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party for Amira Kadal constituency Hina Shafi Bhat reportedly slapped a polling officer during a visit to a polling station at Methan in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, which went to polls under the fourth phase of assembly elections.However, Reports earlier said that ruling National Conference workers assaulted her after the slapping incident and chanted anti-BJP slogans, following which Bhat took refuge inside the polling centre. She could not be contacted for comments despite repeated attempts. 

In a meantime, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly criticised Hina over the incident. Omar on micro-blogging website twitter said “The BJP candidate in Srinagar who earlier threatened to pick up a gun over Art 370 now slaps a polling officer. Well done”.Reports reaching to 5 Dariya News Srinagar Bureau also suggests that another BJP candidate from South Kashmir’s Shopian district Javed Qadri thrashed a voter inside the polling booth. Qadri thrashed an unidentified man in presence of the polling staff inside the polling station at Moochwad in south Kashmir Shopian district where polling is underway.District Election Officer of Shopian Bashir Ahmad Bhat said the incident had not yet come to his notice."If such a thing has happened, action under law will be taken against him," Bhat said.Meanwhile, scuffle between voters were widely witnessed across the day in different polling station in Srinagar, However no injury or any untoward incident were reported.
