‘One lakh peope’ to attend Modi’s Srinagar rally

Narendra Modi is going to hold a rally at Cricket Stadium in Srinagar on December 8. Since his anointment as the Prime Minister of India, this will be Modi's first rally in Summer capital Srinagar. BJP National General Secretary, Taurn Chugh told reporters in Srinagar on Monday that all but one lakh people will attend the rally that according to him will turn out to a historical rally. “Our leader Narendra Modi will inform people of Kashmir about the policies of BJP and for this purpose we have made elaborate arrangements to bring BJP supporters to the venue,” he said. A BJP leader told CNS on condition of anonymity that the party mulling to book rather hire, trains, buses, cars-jeeps and motorcycles to bring supporters to the venue. “Most of the crowd for Modi’s rally will come from Jammu. Thorough deliberations are going on and plan has been give a final touch that aims at drawing record crowd to Modi’s rally,” he said.

Media incharge for BJP in Kashmir, Altaf Thakur told CNS that saffron banners, flags, posters will come up all around Cricket Stadium Sonawar and its adjoining areas while a grand stage will be erected at the venue with a massive and impressive picture of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi as the backdrop. He added that party has already erected massive hoardings of Narendra Modi at different places in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, a police official said that massive security arrangements will be put in place by the state police. "We will made made three-tier security arrangement for the rally and strong checks will be put in place. We will start sanitizing the area to ensure smooth conduct of the rally,” he told CNS. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chug also informed the reporters that senior BJP leader and Minister for Finance Arun Jaitley will address members of the civil society and intelligentsia at SKICC Srinagar on December 3 (Wednesday). “It will an intellectuals meet in which scholars, academicians, civil society members, students, journalists and cream of the society will participate. We have already extended invitations to them while Arun Jaitley will keep the view point of party in the meet titled ‘Vision Kashmir’, he said. (CNS)
