Candidates dropped in the final selection list of teachers issued by the Service Selection Board (SSB) have alleged that the ‘blue-eyed’ persons were selected while as the deserving ones were out rightly dropped.Candidates, whose names didn’t figure in the final selection list issued on September 24, told KNS that SSB adopted nepotism while selecting the candidates for the teacher posts. The aggrieved candidates remarked that in 2012, a notification 03 of 2012/271 was issued by the selection board here in addition to the similar one issued in 2013 wherein the interested candidates were asked to apply for the post of the teacher. Board received applications in thousands which was followed by the written examination of the applicants.

The candidates told KNS that 1100 candidates were later short listed and were called for the interviews. On September 24, this year, final selection list was issued, which according to several candidates was a reflection of ‘partiality’ and ‘favoritism’. They added that the final selection list contained innumerous errors as the degrees of scores of applicants were not taken into account during the finalization of the selection list. The aspirants who have been dropped allege that the degree of Bachelor of Education (B Ed) which is necessary for post has not been considered while as the selected ones have been preferred sans any logic and ground.

Taking a jibe at the SSB officials, aspirants told KNS that when they approached the Board over the issue, their demands were out rightly rejected with the officials caring little to listen to their grievances. Demanding that the results of the final selection along with the scored points be made public, the dropout candidates have urged the state establishment to look into the matter on priority so that justice is delivered sans any delay.Despite repeated attempts SSB chairman wasn’t available for the comment.
