Terming the renewed escalation of tensions on borders between India and Pakistan as highly explosive, APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has stressed upon the leadership of both the nations to immediately observe ceasefire on borders and LOC. He also said that both the nations should shun their confrontationist approach and focus on addressing the the Kashmir issue through political means.    Expressing his concern and regret over the loss of life and property on the both sides of Line of Control across the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz stated that people of Jammu and Kashmir  have borne the  major brunt of border tension between the two nations in terms of damage to the life and property. 

Terming the lingering Kashmir dispute as the major cause of tension between the two nuclear armed neighbors-India and Pakistan, Mirwaiz stated till the Kashmir issue is not resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of its people, instability and clouds of war would continue to hover over the  disputed territory including whole of south Asia.APHC Chairman stated that the need of the hour was that India should shun the path of obstinacy and initiate a meaningful dialogue with all stake holders to solve the Kashmir issue for once and all.
