Accusing the Mamata Banerjee government of trying to cover up the Oct 2 Burdwan blast, the BJP has decided to take out protest marches and rallies across West Bengal Thursday, demanding an NIA probe into the incident."The union home ministry in its report today has revealed how the state administration has been uncooperative with central agencies and trying to cover up the probe," state BJP president Rahul Sinha told media persons here.Asserting that a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was indispensable for the sake of national security, Sinha said his party will take out protest rallies and marches in all districts Thursday, condemning the ruling Trinamool Congress' opposition to the central probe.

"The Trinamool is opposed to an NIA probe because it has many things to hide. It knows if a central agency probes, its links with terror outfits and fundamentalist organisations will come out in the open," added Sinha.Contending that NIA intervention will be an attack of federalism, the Trinamool Congress has been opposing the probe by the central agency.Four people, including two women, have been arrested in connection with the explosion that took place in a house in Khagragarh area of Burdwan district, killing two suspected militants. The CID and a composite task force drawn from various state investigating agencies, are probing the blast in which involvement of terror outfits is suspected.A large number of watch dials, SIM cards, grenades, chemicals used in making explosives, jihadi literature, among other things, were seized by the CID team from the house.
