Punjab Horticulture Minister, Mr. Mohinder Bhagat, said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is implementing several farmer-friendly schemes to enhance farmers' income and make horticulture a more profitable enterprise. The Cabinet Minister said that, with the objective of promoting floriculture, the Government, under its horticulture schemes, provides a 40% subsidy on the cost of cultivation, up to a maximum of Rs 14,000 per acre, for flower seed production for a period of up to three years.

He added that the initiative is aimed at encouraging quality flower seed production and creating additional income opportunities for farmers. He urged farmers to take maximum advantage of the various schemes being implemented by the Horticulture Department and advised them to contact their nearest Horticulture Office for any information, guidance or assistance.
