Reiterating the Punjab Government’s commitment to the welfare of the NRI community, Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh today interacted with Punjabis residing abroad during the Government’s monthly “Online Milni” and listened to their grievances and concerns. The Cabinet Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is fully committed to ensuring the transparent, fair and time-bound redressal of issues faced by Non-Resident Punjabis.

Dr. Ravjot Singh informed that Punjabis from various countries participated in the Online Milni and shared their grievances. During the interaction, complaints pertaining to property and land disputes, matrimonial issues, fraud and other personal matters were taken up for consideration.

He further informed that NRI Punjabis who are retired employees of the Punjab Government also raised issues related to their pensions. These included difficulties in receiving the One-Time Password (OTP) while residing abroad, as well as other technical problems associated with the pension verification process.

Emphasising that the Government’s objective is not merely to hear grievances but to ensure their effective resolution, Dr. Ravjot Singh directed the concerned departments and officers to examine each complaint on priority and take prompt action strictly in accordance with the rules. He further instructed the officials to establish direct contact with the complainants, wherever required, to facilitate timely resolution of their issues.

The Cabinet Minister said that the monthly “Online Milni” initiative has emerged as a reliable and effective platform for strengthening communication between the Punjab Government and Punjabis settled overseas. He added that the Government will continue to safeguard the rights and interests of the NRI community, ensure expeditious disposal of their grievances and further strengthen their bond with their native State.

Secretary NRI Affairs Mr. Mohammad Tayyab, ADGP NRI Wing Mr. R. K. Jaiswal, Special Secretary NRI Affairs, Mrs. Amandeep Kaur and other senior officers of the Department were also present during the Online Milni.
