Punjab Government launches special documentary on Shri Guru Ravidas Ji's life from Mohali

As part of the Punjab Government's year-long observance of the 650th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a special documentary campaign showcasing the life, philosophy and teachings of the revered Guru was launched today in the Mohali Assembly Constituency with the flagging off of a specially designed documentary van by MLA Kulwant Singh from village Jhujhar Nagar.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Kulwant Singh said the initiative reflects the commitment of the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, to take the timeless teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji to every household across the State.He said Guru Sahib's message of social equality, communal harmony, truth, dignity of labour and humanity continues to inspire generations and remains highly relevant in contemporary society.

He informed that the specially designed van is equipped with a 12 ft × 8 ft LED screen for screening a 30-minute documentary depicting the life, philosophy, teachings and social reform movement led by Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. The documentary has been prepared to present Guru Sahib's message in a simple, meaningful and impactful manner, particularly for the younger generation.

The MLA further said that the documentary van will cover two villages every day in the Mohali Assembly Constituency. He appealed to the residents to participate in large numbers when the van visits their villages and draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. 

He expressed confidence that such initiatives would further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, equality, social harmony and mutual respect in society.On the inaugural day, the documentary was screened at Jhujhar Nagar and Barh Majra, where a large number of devotees and local residents witnessed the screenings.

Senior Deputy Mayor R.P. Sharma, Deputy Mayor Harpal Singh Channa, Vice-Chairman of the District Traders Commission Tarlochan Singh Baidwan, Assembly Constituency Chairman Akvinder Singh Gosal, Sarpanch of Jhujhar Nagar Iqbal Singh, Sarpanch of Barh Majra Rajinder Singh, Sarpanch of Barh Majra Colony Gurnam Singh, besides other prominent citizens and a large number of devotees, were present on the occasion.
