The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is working expeditiously to strengthen the horticulture sector in the state and enhance the income of farmers. In line with this objective, Horticulture Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat today chaired a special review meeting in Chandigarh to assess the progress of the Horticulture Department. 

Horticulture Secretary Arshdeep Singh Thind and Director Horticulture Manish Kumar were also present. During the meeting, Minister Mohinder Bhagat reviewed the progress of various schemes and initiatives being implemented by the Horticulture Department. 

He directed the officers to ensure the timely completion of all pending projects and administrative matters so that the horticulture sector can be further strengthened and farmers are provided with better services. He also stressed the need for greater speed and transparency in the disbursement of subsidies to farmers.

Mr. Bhagat also reviewed the progress regarding the filling of vacant posts in the Horticulture Department and the promotion of departmental officers. He directed the officers concerned to expedite the promotion process in accordance with the prescribed rules to further enhance the department's efficiency.

Besides this, Mr. Mohinder Bhagat reviewed the progress of machinery procurement under various horticulture schemes and other infrastructure development works. He instructed the officers to ensure that all pending works are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
