Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mrs. Komal Mittal today filled her Enumeration Form as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the Electoral Rolls being undertaken by the Election Commission of India. Sharing her experience of filling the Enumeration Form, Mrs. Mittal explained that since she was not an elector in 2003, she linked her details with those of her father to facilitate verification of her electoral record.

She informed that the Enumeration Form is to be filled in duplicate. The forms already contain certain pre-filled information, and the elector is required to verify the details, affix a recent passport-size photograph on both copies and sign the form.

She said that after submission, the Booth Level Officer (BLO) will acknowledge receipt by signing one copy and returning it to the elector as proof of submission. The second copy will be retained by the BLO for uploading on ECINet, thereby ensuring digitisation of the records. She added that the entire process takes approximately five minutes.

The District Election Officer further clarified that it is mandatory for every elector to submit the Enumeration Form. In cases where the elector is not available at home, any adult member of the family may sign the form on behalf of the elector by clearly mentioning his or her relationship with the concerned voter.

Appealing to all eligible voters of the district, Mrs. Mittal said that the Enumeration Form collection drive, which commenced on June 25, will continue up to July 24, 2026. Thereafter, the Draft Electoral Roll will be published on August 3, 2026, following which the period for filing claims and objections will remain open till September 2, 2026.

The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue till September 28, 2026, commencing from September 3, after which the Final Electoral Roll will be published as per the schedule prescribed by the Election Commission of India. She urged voters not to pay heed to any rumours or misleading information regarding the Special Intensive

Revision. In case of any doubt or clarification, citizens have been advised to contact the Voter Helpline Number 1950. Mrs. Mittal also appealed to representatives of the media to verify all information relating to the Special Intensive Revision from the District Election Office before publication so that only authentic and factual information reaches the public.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of Day-1 of the Special Intensive Revision with the Electoral Registration Officers (SDMs) during a review meeting. She directed them to ensure the regular digitisation of all duly filled Enumeration Forms by uploading them promptly on the ECINet portal.

Emphasising the importance of accuracy in the electoral rolls, she instructed the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to undertake door-to-door visits and ensure that every eligible elector is covered during the enumeration process. She also appealed to the Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of all recognised political parties to extend full cooperation to the BLOs so that no eligible voter is left out of the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
