Following the decisive majority secured by the Aam Aadmi Party in the Lalru Municipal Council, elections for the posts of President, Senior Vice President and Vice President of the Council were held today. During the election, S. Jorawar Singh, Councillor from Ward No. 6, was unanimously elected as President of the Municipal Council. 

Sh. Harish Madan, Councillor from Ward No. 8, was elected as Senior Vice President, while Sh. Aman Rana, Councillor from Ward No. 4, was elected as Vice President. Congratulating the newly elected office-bearers, MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa expressed his gratitude to the urban voters of Lalru for electing Aam Aadmi Party candidates to 13 of the 17 seats in the Municipal Council.

He said that the responsibility of all councillors is now to ensure the overall development of the town and provide citizens with essential civic amenities such as sanitation, drinking water, roads, sewerage and other basic public services at the earliest. He emphasized that living up to the expectations of the people should be the foremost priority of the newly elected representatives.

Chairman of the Punjab Youth Development Board, Sh. Parminder Singh Goldy, was also present on the occasion.
