Director, Skill Development Department and Prabhari Officer for Vibrant Village Programme-II (VVP-II) for Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad, along with Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Friday reviewed the implementation and progress of the programme in Neeru and Purana Tulail (Jurniyal) villages of Tulail Block during a meeting held at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner presented a detailed overview of the implementation of VVP-II in the identified villages, highlighting ongoing interventions, developmental priorities and infrastructure requirements. Officers from various departments presented village-specific action plans and updates relating to key sectors.

Dr. Owais Ahmad stressed the need for effective inter-departmental coordination, timely submission of proposals and expeditious execution of developmental works. He emphasized that all infrastructure gaps should be identified and addressed in a mission mode to ensure holistic and sustainable development of the border villages under VVP-II.

It was informed that under VVP-II, 28 villages across the border blocks of Bagtore and Tulail have been identified, with Kanzalwan Nayle, Kilshay, Neeru and Purana Tulail selected as key strategic villages under the programme. The meeting reviewed progress under various thematic areas including road connectivity, telecom services, electrification, livelihood generation, education, healthcare and other essential infrastructure.

Discussions focused on strengthening mobile and internet connectivity in remote border areas, improving on-grid electrification, establishment of solar parks and addressing critical infrastructure gaps in the identified villages. The meeting also reviewed departmental proposals aimed at ensuring saturation of services and improving the quality of life of residents in these far-flung border areas.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of practical, sustainable and community-oriented planning under the programme and stressed the need for convergence among departments to maximize the impact of developmental interventions while improving essential services in remote border areas.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Programme Officer ICDS Bandipora, ACD Bandipora, ACP Bandipora, CMO Bandipora, BDOs and other district and sectoral officers.
