The District Administration Ramban, under Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, today organised a mega yoga session at Sanasar as a prelude to the 12th International Day of Yoga.The event was jointly coordinated by the Departments of AYUSH, Youth Services & Sports, Rural Development, School Education and Information & Public Relations. Members of the Art of Living Organisation Udhampur conducted yoga demonstrations and meditation sessions, guiding participants through postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner stated that yoga has become a global movement for peace and holistic health, and that the annual observance of the International Day of Yoga has played a significant role in spreading awareness of its benefits worldwide. He urged citizens, particularly youth and students, to make yoga a part of their daily routine to enhance productivity, confidence and quality of life.

The DC called upon participants to support the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, noting that substance abuse can only be effectively addressed through collective efforts involving families, educational institutions, community organisations and government agencies. He urged people to participate in International Day of Yoga events being organised at district, subdivision, tehsil, block and institutional levels across the district.

Among those present were SSP Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Assistant Commissioner (Development) Sheraz Ahmed, Chief Planning Officer Dr Shakeeb Ahmed Rather and district and sectoral officers, along with tourists, students, youth and locals.
