Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh today inspected the ongoing construction work of the Vidhan Sabha flyover under the Shimla Smart City initiative and reviewed the progress of the project.

The Minister was apprised that the construction work has been substantially completed, except for Pier-2, for which design was currently under review by the railway authorities. Besides, efforts are being made to secure the necessary approval at the earliest.

The Minister was informed that fabrication of the flyover's superstructure has been completed and launching work is scheduled to commence in July, 2026.The Minister directed the contractor to further expedite construction activities and ensure adherence to the approved work programme. 

He instructed all the concerned to make every effort to complete the flyover by December 2026.He said that the Vidhan Sabha flyover was a key project under the Shimla Smart City initiative and was expected to significantly improve traffic movement and connectivity in the area.
