A PUCA delegation comprising Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh and S. Manjit Singh, Patron, PUCA and Chairman, Doaba Group of Colleges, met Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, wife of the Chief Minister, Punjab. The interaction was held during the Women Journalist Awards. Hardeep Kaur Virk, President of Disha Women Welfare Trust, was also present on the occasion.

During the one-to-one meeting, Dr. Anshu Kataria highlighted the problems being faced by self-financed colleges and discussed the same with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur. Dr. Kataria stated that Bhagwant Mann has sanctioned nearly Rs. 400 crore out of the Rs. 1,084 crore that was left pending by the previous government, which is a welcome step.

He further submitted that the remaining Rs. 600 crore should also be disbursed by the government so that the outstanding dues of all colleges pending since 2020 are cleared. Dr. Kataria and S. Manjit Singh also invited Dr. Gurpreet Kaur to interact with the youth of Punjab through their colleges. 

Dr. Gurpreet Kaur shared that she is always inspired by Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab, who has consistently encouraged her to interact with the youth. She added that she would soon plan visits to colleges through PUCA to engage with students.
