Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar attended a district-level yoga practice programme organised on Friday at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan Sonipat, as part of the activities being conducted ahead of the 12th International Day of Yoga. Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar participated in a mass yoga session along with students, women, senior citizens, government officials and other participants. 

He called upon people to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives. Addressing the gathering, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but an invaluable heritage of Indian culture that unites the body, mind and soul. 

For thousands of years, yoga has guided humanity towards balance, positivity, self-confidence and good health. Today, yoga has transcended the boundaries of India and emerged as a global medium for human welfare and well-being.

The Minister said that the theme of this year's International Day of Yoga focuses on the health and well-being of senior citizens. He emphasised that yoga is an effective means of ensuring a healthy, active and dignified life in old age. 

Yoga not only helps prevent various diseases but also provides mental peace, energy and inner strength. He said that people should adopt yoga as a part of their daily routine from an early stage of life.

Yoga Recognized on the Global Stage Through Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Efforts

Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that owing to the visionary leadership and efforts of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, International Day of Yoga has secured a distinct place on the global stage. He said that the proposal moved by the Prime Minister at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014 received the support of a record 177 countries. 

Today, International Day of Yoga will be observed in more than 200 countries across the world on June 21, which is a matter of great pride for India. He further said that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the country has set new benchmarks in development, good governance and public welfare. 

The Prime Minister has recently completed 12 years of successful leadership, and the nation continues to move steadily towards the vision of a developed India, said the Minister.

Women and Youth are the Foundation of a Developed India

Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that women are not only the foundation of the family but also the cornerstone of social and national development. If women are healthy, educated and self-confident, society as a whole becomes stronger. 

He said that daughters and youth of the country will play a vital role in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Developed India by 2047. Praising the students of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, he said the institution has emerged as an important centre of women's education and empowerment, and the young women graduating from the university are bringing laurels to society and the nation.

Government Strengthening AYUSH Infrastructure

Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh.  Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana Government is continuously working to strengthen yoga and the AYUSH system in the state. A budget provision of Rs. 135 crore has been made for the AYUSH Department for this purpose.

He informed that vyamshalas have been established in nearly 6,500 villages across Haryana, out of which construction work has been completed in 883. In addition, 859 AYUSH Yoga Assistants have been appointed. The state is also operating 397 AYUSH dispensaries and 109 sub-health centres.

Atal e-Libraries and Indoor Gyms to Come Up in Villages

Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that a campaign is underway to establish Atal e-Libraries in all 6,225 gram panchayats of the state for the benefit of youth and students. These libraries will be equipped with computers, air-conditioned study rooms, furniture and books for competitive examinations so that students in rural areas can access better educational facilities, said the Minister.

He congratulated Haryana's successful candidates in the recent UPSC examination, where 37 candidates from the state secured selection. He expressed the hope that in the coming years, more than 37 youngsters from Haryana would qualify for the prestigious civil services examination. Encouraging students, he said that if they set clear goals and work hard with dedication, success would certainly follow.

He further stated that indoor gyms are being established in villages to encourage fitness among rural youth and women. The government's objective is to ensure that every village is equipped with modern facilities related to sports, education and health.

Students Must Set Clear Goals to Achieve Success

Addressing the students, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar  said that setting a clear goal is essential for achieving success in life. Students who define their objectives and pursue them with determination invariably achieve success. He urged young people to develop their personalities through education, sports and yoga.

Kharkhoda MLA, Sh.  Pawan Kharkhoda,  Deputy Commissioner Ms. Neha Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Prof. Sudesh, other senior officers, officials and employees of various departments, students, women and a large number of citizens also remained present on this occasion.
