Continuing his efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in Jammu East, MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi on Saturday inaugurated the tile-laying work with the estimated cost of Rs 8.30 lakh at Government Higher Secondary School, Jhulaka Mohalla, Ward No. 2.
The development project is being executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) with the objective of improving the school premises and providing a safer and more conducive environment for students. The inauguration ceremony was attended by local residents, school staff, students, and BJP workers.
Among those present were Romesh Lal Gupta Principal GHSS Julaka Mohalla, Preeti Sharma Mahila Morcha East Mandal President, Ajesh Sharma Ward Sanjoyak, Romesh Gupta, Sashikant Sapolia, Sheikh Faiz, Ravinder Bania, Ram Krishan Bakshi, Feroz Khan, Sameer Dalgotra, Bindu Sharma, Sneha Sharma, Sita Devi, Usha Sharma, Veena, Sushma, Nepun Malhotra and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said that quality education requires not only dedicated teachers and modern learning methods but also proper infrastructure that ensures the comfort and safety of students. He said the tile-laying work would improve the overall appearance of the school campus and make it more student-friendly.
“Educational institutions are the foundation of a progressive society. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that students have access to clean, safe, and well-maintained surroundings. The development of school infrastructure remains one of my top priorities, and every effort will be made to provide better facilities to our children,” Sethi said.
The MLA emphasized that the Jammu administration is committed to upgrading public infrastructure and addressing the needs of educational institutions across Jammu East. He said that various developmental works are being undertaken in the constituency to improve civic amenities and enhance the quality of life of residents.
Sethi also interacted with school authorities and local residents and assured them that genuine issues concerning the area would be addressed on priority. He urged students to focus on their studies and make full use of the facilities being created for their benefit.
The school management expressed gratitude to the MLA and the Jammu Municipal Corporation for initiating the project, stating that the improvement would contribute significantly to creating a better educational atmosphere for students.
