Haryana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Sh. A. Sreenivas, said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued the schedule for conducting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The SIR of electoral rolls is set to commence from June 15 to July 14, 2026, and the final publication of the electoral roll will be on September 22, 2026.
Sh. A. Sreenivas was addressing a press conference at the New Haryana Civil Secretariat, Sector-17, Chandigarh, today. He said that in cases where Enumeration Forms have not been returned, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) may identify probable reasons such as “Absent”, “Shifted”, “Dead”, or “Duplicate” after making inquiries from neighbouring residents and record the same accordingly.
BLOs have been directed to visit each such household at least three times for the collection of Enumeration Forms. He said that booth-wise lists of electors whose names are not included in the Draft Roll will be displayed on the notice boards of Electoral Registration officer, Panchayat Bhawans, Urban Local Body offices, and the offices of Block Development and Panchayat Officers to ensure public access to voter lists along with the probable reasons for non-inclusion.
The Commission has directed all Chief Electoral Officers to consolidate these lists and upload them on the CEO’s website in an accessible format, along with similar lists on the websites of respective District Election Officers (DEOs). During the house-to-house enumeration process, BLOs have been directed to carry at least 30–40 blank Form-6 applications along with blank Declaration Forms (Annexure-IV) to facilitate enrolment of new electors.
The CEO urged political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) 1 and 2. So far, the CEO’s office has received details of 14,520 BLAs, including 6,438 from BJP, 7,704 from INC, 165 from CPI(M), and the remaining from other political parties. BLAs may also collect Enumeration Forms from voters and submit them to BLOs.
Replying to a question, Sh. Sreenivas said that the last Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Haryana was conducted in 2002. Enumeration Forms can be downloaded from the official website from June 15, 2026 onwards. He also informed that a dedicated helpline number, 1950, has been established in all district headquarters and constituencies.
The helpline will function in two shifts from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. He further clarified that if a voter is not present during the house-to-house survey, any adult family member may sign Enumeration Form and submit the form to the BLO.
The CEO said that Haryana has approximately 18 percent logical errors in electoral data, including incorrect names and spelling mistakes, compared to other states. As of May 21, 2026, the total number of registered electors in Haryana stands at 2,06,52,760, while the total number of polling stations is 20,629.
He informed that electoral mapping of 1,32,51,717 electors has been completed so far, accounting for 64.16 percent of the total electorate. Fatehabad leads with 86.56 percent mapping, followed by Charkhi Dadri 82.36 percent, Sirsa 80.82 percent, Kaithal 78.59 percent, Mahendragarh 77.20 percent, Nuh 77.01 percent, Bhiwani 76.61 percent, Yamunanagar 75.81 percent, Rewari 74.98 percent, Hisar 73.82 percent, and Jind 71.93 percent.
Similarly, Kurukshetra has achieved 69.71 percent mapping, Karnal 68.13 percent, Palwal 67.04 percent, Jhajjar 64.07 percent, Ambala 63.45 percent, Rohtak 59.72 percent, Panipat 58.88 percent, Sonipat 58.39 percent, Panchkula 51.20 percent, Gurugram 35.06 percent, and Faridabad 29.66 percent.
Sh. Sreenivas said that all Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers have been directed to ensure access of BLOs in high-rise and gated societies, particularly in Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat, and Panchkula. He reiterated that there would be no undue pressure on officials engaged in SIR work and that the exercise would be conducted smoothly.
As per ECI instructions issued to the Chief Secretaries of states, no post notified as District Election Officer (DEO), Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) shall remain vacant. Further, no official associated with the SIR exercise shall be transferred without prior approval of the Commission.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Smt. Ritu, Sh.Apruv, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Raj Kumar Lohan, and other officers of the CEO's office were also present during the press conference.
