Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Friday felicitated Lead District Manager Gurdeep Singh Kang and District Coordinating Officers (DCOs) of eight major banks for their exceptional contribution in securing the No. 1 rank in India under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) sanctions. The felicitated DCOs included Rani Pawar (Bank of India), Sandeep Singh (Punjab & Sind Bank), Varinder Kumar (Punjab National Bank), Jatinder (Union Bank of India), Hardeep Kaur (UCO Bank), Ravinder Kaur (HDFC Bank), Sumit (Canara Bank), and a representative from State Bank of India (SBI).

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain lauded the tireless efforts and dedication of Gurdeep Singh Kang and the entire team of District Coordinating Officers, which played a pivotal role in this remarkable national-level achievement. Lead District Manager Gurdeep Singh Kang highlighted the district’s impressive overall banking performance. 

As on December 31, 2025, Ludhiana had achieved 99.73% of its Priority Sector Lending targets and 95.66% of its Annual Credit Plan (ACP) target for the financial year 2025–26. Sector-wise, the district recorded 89.30% achievement under Agriculture and a remarkable 102.44% under MSME. 

Most notably, the Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio of the district stood at an impressive 90%, significantly higher than the national benchmark of 60%.
