Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar informed that an inter- departmental committee under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad Rewari has been constituted to look into the issue and identify a probable solution for the construction of Liquid Waste Water Management Plant in Gram Panchayat Akera and Ghatal Mahaniyawas of Rewari Assembly Constituency.
The Minister was responding to a question raised by a member during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today. The Minister informed that the population of village Akeda is 5,814, and of village Ghatal Mahaniyawas is 4,629. Both villages are adjoining, and there is no available Gram Panchayat land nearby for necessary development works.
However, as per provisions, if the population of a Gram Panchayat exceeds 10,000, it can be converted into a ‘Mahagram’, making it eligible for the installation of a sewerage system. Therefore, it has been proposed to club both villages and include them under the Mahagram category so that a sewerage system can be provided.
He further said that a committee comprising the Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad Rewari was constituted, which was assigned to submit its report within 15 days. A meeting of the committee was held on Monday, during which it was recommended that the Deputy Commissioner (DC) should also be included in the committee.
Regarding the issue of the pipeline, it was stated that further action will be taken based on the recommendations of the committee’s report.
