Ruchi Thakur, a resident of Tehsil Karsog in District Mandi, called on Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at his official residence, Oak Over, today following her successful ascent of Mount Everest on 21 May, 2026. The Chief Minister congratulated Ruchi Thakur on this remarkable achievement and said that her success would inspire the younger generation to pursue excellence with determination and courage.
He honoured Ruchi Thakur and announced a cash reward of Rs. one lakh in recognition of her outstanding accomplishment. Sh. Sukhu said that the girls of Himachal are bringing laurels to the state through their exceptional achievements in various fields and serving as an inspiration for society.
