The Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, today unveiled Bharat Tex 2026, India’s flagship global textile event, signalling the country’s growing leadership in the global textile economy. Addressing stakeholders from industry, government, and trade bodies, the Minister highlighted that Bharat Tex is envisaged as a single largest global platform that brings together the entire textile value chain, ranging from fibre and yarn to fabrics, garments, technical textiles, and sustainable innovations.

Describing it as the largest and most comprehensive textiles event ever, he commended the commitment of textile EPCs and other industry bodies for their relentless efforts and dedication in bringing the entire value chain of textiles under the Bharat Tex umbrella.

He underlined that Bharat Tex will reaffirm the attractiveness of India as a reliable, sustainable sourcing destination as well as an investment destination at scale for textiles. With innovation, collaboration, and the Make in India spirit at its core, this event is an embodiment of the 5F vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, he added.

Secretary Ministry of Textiles, Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Additional Secretary, Shri Rohit Kansal, senior representatives of Export Promotion Councils, and industry leaders were present at the official launch ceremony.

Bharat Tex 2026

Building upon the remarkable success of earlier two editions, Bharat Tex 2026 is poised to be the largest and most impactful edition to date. Scheduled to be held from 14-17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The edition is expected to witness large scale participation of over 3,500 business exhibitors, over 7,000 international buyers from more than 140 countries and over 1,30,000 trade visitors.

The event will showcase the entire textile ecosystem, including fibres and yarns, fabrics, apparel and fashion, home textiles, technical textiles, handicrafts, handlooms, and intelligent manufacturing technologies. The event reflects India’s integrated strength across manufacturing, design, technology, and trade.

Bharat Tex 2026 builds upon the strong success of its previous editions in 2024 and 2025 and will offer a unique convergence of exhibitions, knowledge sessions, reverse buyer-seller meets, and policy dialogues, aimed at translating discussions into actionable outcomes.

Special focus areas include sustainable and circular textiles, technical textiles, MSME integration, innovation, and global market access. The event will provide Indian MSMEs, exhibitors, start-ups, academia and designers a platform to showcase their latest textile innovations, connect global manufacturers and buyers, engage in high-level discussions and establish strategic partnerships.

The event would also showcase the flagship policy initiatives and reforms undertaken by Central and State Governments to attract investment, boost trade and provide long term sustenance to both India’s manufacturing ecosystem and traditional sectors of Handlooms.

A Global Textile Dialogue

A key highlight of Bharat Tex 2026 will be the Global Textile Dialogue, featuring a series of knowledge sessions bringing together policymakers, global industry leaders, and innovators to deliberate on emerging trends such as global trade dynamics, sustainability and ESG standards, Industry 5.0, technical textiles, and resilient supply chains, providing valuable insights for industry stakeholders and MSMEs.

An Industry led Initiative

The event is an industry led initiative and will be organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) – an umbrella group of 11 Textile related Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and other industry bodies. Shri Naren Goenka, Chairman BTTF and Shri Bhadresh Dodia, Co-Chairman BTTF spoke on the activities proposed in the fair.
