State Secretary CPI (M) and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today staged walk out from the Legislative Assembly, as the Honorable Speaker did not conceded to his demand to discuss the burning issues of price rise and inflation in the House.According to a statement issued to KNS, the CPI (M) and NPP members demand for discussion on price rise and inflation was turned down prompting them to stage walkout from the house.During his intervention in the Legislative Assembly today while demanding discussion on burning issues of price rise and inflation, the CPI (M) leader said if the issue is ignored and not discussed in the House, the same will amount to breach of peoples’ mandate given to the members of the House.
Prices of all essential commodities have skyrocketed and even the traditional items have become unaffordable Tarigami observed and said that continuous fall in the purchasing power of ordinary people is forcing them to lower consumption of basic necessities.Coming down heavily on the government and the CAPD Department, CPI (M) leader said that the Government had no time to discuss the problems faced by the common man. “When the people are suffering due to price rise and inflation, the department which needs to focus on effective market intervention is in deep slumber,” he added.Taking a jibe at the BJP for its “Achey Din” campaign, Tarigami said that people are feeling the pinch of BJP’s false promises. “The BJP had played with the sentiments of the people before the elections and has now failed to curb the rising prices and inflation,” he added.
