God-knowledge ends ignorance and leads to a bondage-free life.   Saints, sages and prophets have always preached that bondages of religion, caste, creed, region, rites and rituals make man create barriers and prevent human beings to reach common goal of universal brotherhood, love and tolerance. This was observed here yesterday by His Holiness Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission, while addressing a huge gathering of devotees on the occasion of Spiritual Liberation Day (Mukti Parv Samagam). The Mission celebrates Mukti Parv to pay tributes to and take inspiration from the remarkable contributions made by the former Head, Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji, his esteemed spouse Jagatmata Budhwanti Ji and numerous devotees of the Mission who received God-knowledge and dedicated their lives to spread the same as per guidance from the True Master.

His Holiness said that today when the country is celebrating its Independence Day, we find that we have failed to fulfil the aspirations of those who fought and struggled for it. Due to our own narrow-mindedness we have forgotten that Independence was achieved for the country as a whole. We havecontinued to create pisions and build walls in the name of religion, language, region, culture, etc.Baba Ji said that in spiritual realm, when we receive God-knowledge, we get rid of the darkness of ignorance and are saved from delusions and bondages for the soul.  Even mind is enlightened and the life here gets improved.  We rise above selfishness, ego and hatred. The feelings of love, broad-heartedness, tolerance and humility enter our life.  We have, however, to take care and avoid slipping into the same bondages again. His Holiness said that even in the past, saints and sages like Kabir Ji, Ravidas Ji, Meerabai, Muktabai, Tukaram Ji and so on taught man to rise above all kinds of pisions and lead life based on truth, unity, love and tolerance. In the recent times Baba Buta Singh Ji and then Baba Avtar Singh Ji accompanied by othersaints gave the same message to the mankind. That is why they are remembered even today.

Baba Ji said that initially, August 15 was observed as Jagatmata Budhwanti Diwas since she breathedher last on thisday in 1964. Then Baba Avtar Singh Ji left this mortal frame on September 17, 1969 and Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji in his own farsightedness decided to pay tributes to him also on August 15. In 1979, the founder President of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, Pradhan Labh Singh Ji breathed his last on August 15, 1979. It was from this day that Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji decided to celebrate August 15 as Mukti Parv, to pay tributes and take inspiration not only from the life and teachings of Baba Avtar Singh Ji and Jagatmata Budhwanti Ji but also from the contribution of other devotees who dedicatedtheir life to promote the Mission’s message of truth, love and unity.  Earlier during the day, the devotees of the Mission paid their tributes to the saints who devoted all their time and effort for propagation of the Mission’s message of universal brotherhood.
