Water Level In Bhakra Dam 5.12 Feet Higher Than Last Year

The water level in the Bhakra Dam today recorded at a level of 1662.50 feet against 1657.38 feet last year on the same day. Water level is 5.12 feet more than as it was last year on the same day.Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the irrigation department said that the water level of pong Dam has been recorded at 1344.38 feet which is 34.72 feet less than it was recorded last year that is 1379.10 feet. Similarly the water level of Ranjit Sagar Dam on August 11, 2014 touched 519.46 meter mark which is 2.17 meter more than the water level recorded last year on the same day.

He further said that the inflow of water in Bhakra is 45045 cusec against 47794 last year and the release from Bhakra Dam is 25000 cusec against 31173 cusec last year. Inflow of water in pong Dam has been recorded as 23388 cusec against 34108 cusec on the same day last year and inflow of water in Ranjit Sagar Dam is 12233 cusec against 14760 cusec and release from Ranjit Sagar Dam is 16312 cusec against 5447 cusec release on the same day last year.He further said that the water level of Madhopur HeadWorks has been recorded at 15945 cusec against 5051 cusec on the same day last year.
