Swung into action against the illegal mining activities, the District Administration SAS Nagar has ordered to lodge an FIR against the illegal mining at an illegal site in the Miyanpur Changar area of the district SAS Nagar.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said that after getting an information about the illegal mining in Miyanpur area, an administrative team led by SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh and comprising Naib Tehsildar Majri Raghvit Singh, Executive Engineer Drainage-cum-Mines and Geology, Akash Aggarwal and SDO Pardeep Kumar immediately rushed to the spot in the evening to gather the report on the illegal activities.
She said that as per the preliminary report, the site on which the trash of mining activities has been found, is illegal. The material that has been extracted from the site is mixture of sand, gravel and earth She said that as per the report of the Executive Engineer, Drainage-cum-Mines & Geology, an FIR has been recommended to the District Police to launch further investigation.
The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that no one would be allowed to do illegal mining activities in the district and strict action will be taken as per law against the offenders. She further said that there will be no mining activities in the district in the after Sun Set to take the record of mining activities.
Besides, the Executive Engineer, Drainage-cum-Mines & Geology has been asked to take all the precautions including CCTV camera monitoring to check the illegal mining activities. The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that mining will be permitted only from legal sites approved by the Mines and Geology Department and any one found indulged in illegal mining activities will be dealt with strictly.
