Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal said that the target for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 is to achieve up to 75 percent voting, compared to the previous Lok Sabha elections where 70 percent voting was recorded.
In this series, the Chief Electoral Officer's office, Haryana, has launched an app called 'Voters-in-Queue', through which voters can obtain information about the queue at polling centers from the comfort of their homes and can go to vote as the crowd decreases.The ‘Voter-In-Queue’ App has been approved for use by the Election Commission of India.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that for the upcoming elections on May 25, the ‘Voter-In-Queue’ app will be operational in 30 urban assembly constituencies as per the important decisions taken by the Election Commission. Through this, voters can see the live crowd at the polling centers on the day of the election, allowing them to go to the centre to vote according to their convenience.
Many times, voters leave without casting their votes after seeing the crowd. But now, through this app, information about the polling centers will be available. He informed that the Election Commission of India has also approved the use of the ‘Voter-In-Queue’ mobile app.
Sh. Anurag Agarwal stated that on the mobile app, voters will feed information such as the name of their area, the name of the polling booth, the voter's name, etc., and they will receive an OTP. Through this OTP, they can connect directly with the BLO at the booth. The BLO will update the app about the number of people standing in the queue every hour or half an hour. The app's primary advantage is that it will save voters time by eliminating the need to wait in long queues, he added.
He further stated that the 30 urban assembly constituencies where the‘Voter-In-Queue’ app will be used include Panchkula, Ambala Cantonment, Ambala City, Jagadhri, Yamunanagar, Thanesar, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat Rural, Panipat Urban, Sonipat, Jind, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Hisar, Dadri, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Narnaul, Rewari, Pataudi, Badshahpur, Gurgaon, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad NIT, Badkhal, and Faridabad Assembly Constituency.

हरियाणा के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी श्री अनुराग अग्रवाल ने कहा कि हरियाणा में पिछले लोकसभा चुनाव में हुए 70 प्रतिशत मतदान को इस बार 2024 के लोकसभा चुनावों में 75 प्रतिशत तक पहुंचाने का लक्ष्य तय किया है। इस कड़ी में मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी कार्यालय, हरियाणा ने ‘वोटर इन क्यू’ नाम से एक ऐसी एप लांच की है, जिसके माध्यम से मतदाता मतदान केन्द्रों पर लगने वाली भीड़ की जानकारी घर बैठे ही प्राप्त कर सकते हैं और वह भीड़ कम होते ही वोट डालने के लिए जा सकता है।
‘वोटर इन क्यू’ एप को भारत के निर्वाचन आयोग ने प्रयोग की दी स्वीकृति
मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने बताया कि आगामी 25 मई को होने वाले चुनाव के लिए आयोग की ओर से महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय लेते हुए 30 शहरी विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में वोटर इन क्यू नामक एप संचालित की जाएगी। इससे मतदाता चुनाव के दिन मतदान केन्द्रों पर लगने वाली भीड़ को लाइव देख सकते हैं, जिससे मतदाता अपनी सुविधा अनुसार मतदान करने के लिए केन्द्र पर जा सकते हैं। कई बार मतदाता भीड़ को देखकर वोट डाले बिना ही वापिस चले जाते हैं। लेकिन अब इस एप के माध्यम से मतदान केन्द्रों की जानकारी मिल सकेगी।
उन्होंने बताया कि वोटर इन क्यू मोबाइल एप को भारत निर्वाचन आयोग ने भी प्रयोग के तौर पर अपनी स्वीकृति प्रदान कर दी है।श्री अनुराग अग्रवाल ने बताया कि मोबाइल एप पर मतदाता अपने एरिया का नाम, पोलिंग बूथ का नाम, वोटर का नाम आदि फीड करेगा तो उसे एक ओटीपी मिलेगा, जिसका प्रयोग कर वह बूथ पर सीधे बीएलओ से जुड़ सकता है।
बीएलओ हर एक घंटा या आधे घंटे बाद एप में बताएगा कि इस समय वोट डालने के लिए कितने लोग कतार में खड़े हुए हैं।उन्होंने बताया कि इस मोबाइल एप तथा वेबसाइट का पहली बार चुनाव में प्रयोग किया जा रहा है। इसका सबसे बड़ा लाभ यह है कि मतदाता को वोट डालने के लिए अधिक समय तक इंतजार नहीं करना पड़ेगा और वह भीड़ कम होते ही वोट डालने के लिए जा सकता है।
उन्होंने बताया कि जिन 30 शहरी विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में ‘वोटर इन क्यू’ एप का प्रयोग होगा उनमें पंचकूला, अम्बाला छावनी, अम्बाला शहर, जगाधरी, यमुनानगर, थानेसर, कैथल, करनाल, पानीपत ग्रामीण, पानीपत शहरी, सोनीपत, जींद, फतेहाबाद, सिरसा, हिसार, दादरी, भिवानी, रोहतक, बहादुरगढ़, झज्जर, नारनौल, रेवाड़ी, पटौदी, बादशाहपुर, गुड़गांव, नूंह, पलवल, फरीदाबाद एनआईटी, बडखल तथा फरीदाबाद विधानसभा क्षेत्र शामिल हैं।
