After the deaths of twenty people due to spurious liquor in Sangrur recently, the Mann government has become more stringent against the drug and liquor mafia. On Sunday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met the families of the deceased and shared his condolences with the victim families.

Mann said that the SIT formed under the leadership of ADGP is investigating this matter. Some people have also been arrested and a case has also been registered under Section 302. He said that strict action will be taken against all the culprits involved in this incident.

The Chief Minister said that we are looking into where else they have links in Punjab. If there is any gang selling illicit liquor, they will also be caught. Everyone will be caught and booked under section 302 so that they can get severe punishment under the law.

He assured the victim families and said I'm with you. You all are my family. Being the head of Punjab, I will take care of you. He said that I am a person connected with the village. I have lived in the village. Earlier Chief Ministers did not come to the village. They used to lock the gates of their palaces from inside. Now people have locked them from outside.

Some boys present on the spot told the Chief Minister that chitta is also distributed here. On this he said that give us information in writing about where and at what time it happens, then we will take action on it as soon as possible and put everyone responsible in jail. We will not spare those who are destroying people's homes.

After meeting the victim families, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tweeted that recently many people died in Sangrur because of spurious liquor. Today I went to meet the victim families and assured them of all possible help. These killers of innocent people will not be spared. These are not deaths but murders. Murderers will be given strict punishment.
