Newly-appointed Civil Surgeon Dr. Davinder Kumar took a round of the District Hospital here today and inspected the health facilities and medical arrangements in the facility. He visited different wards of the hospital, interacted with the patients and took their feedback for the betterment of the hospital. Dr. Davinder Kumar visited Emergency Ward, ICU, Operation Theatre, various OPDs, lab etc.

He also monitored the cleanliness in the hospital and instructed the officials that the entire hospital should be kept clean in the same way so that the patients get a good environment. He said that good health of people in the district is his top priority and they will try their best to give quality and effective health care facilities to the residents.

The civil surgeon said that people are already getting all medicines in the hospital pharmacy itself, however it must be ensured by the doctors to prescribe only generic and other medicines which are available in the hospital pharmacy and not make patients buy medicines from private medical shops.

He directed the entire staff including the doctors to give full priority to the patients coming in emergency and to start their examination and treatment immediately. He asked them to provide better health facilities to the people visiting the government health institutions and the patients should not face any difficulty. Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Singh, District Health Officer Dr. Subhash Kumar, Senior Medical Officers Dr HS Cheema, Dr. Vijay Bhagat and other officials were present during the tour.
