Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Tuesday handed over drones to four women pilots - Mandeep Kaur, Simranjit Kaur, Rupinder Kaur, and Gurinder Kaur in the district administrative complex, here. Congratulating the women who have come from different parts of Ludhiana, Sawhney informed that they have undergone a comprehensive training program conducted by IFFCO.
Each drone system consists of an electrical vehicle and generator that costs Rs 15 lakh and has been given to them free of cost. This project aims to boost their self-confidence and encourage active participation in the latest agricultural endeavors. She also emphasized that economically empowered women would contribute to the development of the state and nation.
State Head of IFFCO, Harmail Singh Sidhu, said that these skilled female pilots, known as 'Namo drone Didis,' would help to achieve higher productivity, enhanced crop health, and reduced environmental impact using Nano Urea and Nano DAP with drones. He said that with drones, spray can be done on one-acre area within seven minutes.
This initiative is part of the STREE Project, HDFC Bank Parivartan, and GT Bharat in collaboration with IFFCO, which aims to revolutionize agricultural practices and promote women's empowerment in agriculture. Singh further added that these beneficiaries have undergone a comprehensive training program conducted by IFFCO in Manesar and have also received two days of on-farm training in Barundi village, focusing on adept handling and operational techniques of drone technology.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Sukhjinder Singh, Jagtar Singh, Gurmaij Singh from IFFCO, PSRLM DPM Gagandeep Singh, and Manpreet Singh, Kundan Kumar, Managers and consultant Santokh Singh from Grant Thornton.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਾਰ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰੋਨ ਸਪੁਰਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਫਕੋ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰੋਨ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰੀਕਲ ਵਾਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਰੇਟਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ 15 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਫਤ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮ-ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਪੱਖੋ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਸਿਰ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਸੂਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ। ਇਫਕੋ ਦੇ ਸਟੇਟ ਹੈੱਡ ਹਰਮੇਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 'ਨਮੋ ਡਰੋਨ ਦੀਦੀਜ' ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਇਹ ਹੁਨਰਮੰਦ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਪਾਇਲਟ ਡਰੋਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨੈਨੋ ਯੂਰੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਨੋ ਡੀ.ਏ.ਪੀ. ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਉੱਚ ਉਤਪਾਦਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ, ਫਸਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ 'ਤੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡਰੋਨ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਏਕੜ ਰਕਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤ ਮਿੰਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਪਰੇਅ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਸ਼ਕਤੀਕਰਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ (STREE) ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ, ਐਚ.ਡੀ.ਐਫ.ਸੀ. ਬੈਂਕ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੀ.ਟੀ. ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਇਫਕੋ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਅਭਿਆਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਸ਼ਕਤੀਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਟੇਟ ਹੈਡ ਹਰਮੇਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲਾਭਪਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਾਨੇਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਫਕੋ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਦਿਆਂ, ਡਰੋਨ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਪਿੰਡ ਬੜੂੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਨ-ਫਾਰਮ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਖਸ਼ੀਅਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਫਕੋ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਗਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਗੁਰਮੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੀ.ਐਸ.ਆਰ.ਐਲ.ਐਮ. ਦੇ ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਐਮ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅਤੇ ਗ੍ਰਾਂਟ ਥਾਰਨਟਨ ਤੋਂ ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਕੁੰਦਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
