In a significant step towards modernization and improved convenience for farmers, the Punjab Mandi Board has launched an online portal for registration and identity card creation under the Mandi Yojana. This initiative, inaugurated by Chairman Shri Harchand Singh Barsat, aims to provide better facilities to farmers and streamline operations within the mandis.

Key features of the online platform:

Simplified registration process: Farmers and retailers can now register online in their respective mandis, eliminating the need for physical visits.

Unique identity cards: Upon registration, individuals will receive a unique ID card that facilitates seamless business transactions within the mandi system.

Enhanced transparency: The Mandi Board will have comprehensive data on individuals involved in trade, ensuring smooth and transparent operations.

Direct benefit delivery: The online platform aims to directly deliver the benefits of government schemes to farmers and individuals associated with the mandis.

Chairman Barsat's remarks:

"This online portal is a major step forward in providing better facilities to our farmers and ensuring efficient operations within the mandis," said Chairman Barsat. "The Punjab government is committed to the welfare of farmers, and this initiative is a testament to our continuous efforts in that direction."

Current status and future outlook:

The web portal is currently in a trial phase, operational across mandis in Punjab and Chandigarh. The Mandi Board plans to expand its reach and functionalities in the future, further benefiting farmers and stakeholders within the mandi system.
