Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, on Monday, encouraged the students to continue the hard work under ‘Mission Excellence’ for a better performance in the upcoming board examinations. The Deputy Commissioner held a interactive session here at the District Administration Complex the occasion of New Year with the students and teachers of 8th, 10th and 12th classes of the government schools of District Sangrur who were selected under 'Mission Excellence’. 

DC said that there would be a time period of around one and half months to start exams and this time would be a best time for the students to work hard to ensure golden future. Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal said that this was the right time to give wings to the dreams and in these one and a half months, the students should study with full dedication, enthusiasm and determination. 

He added that that the hard work would surely help the students to secure positions in the merit list of board examinations. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed specially prepared study kits, bags, maps and other stationery to the students as a better study tool for the board exams and wished them a good future.

Deputy Commissioner said that special attention was being paid by the Punjab government to ensure major reforms in the field of education. He added that following the directions of government, as many as 1145 students of 91 government schools of district Sangrur have been selected by the district administration under 'Mission Excellence' who were under special coaching with mock tests, time management, physical and mental development, personality development, concentration training, morning and evening extra training classes, online reading material etc.

On this occasion, Deputy District Education Officer Preetinder Ghai said that in the students who secured first 20 positions in the last 3 mock tests and one test series, conducted in the government schools, were specially invited in this session. Meanwhile, Harpreet Singh, coordinator of 'Mission Excellence', said that the number of students in the merit from the government schools of Sangrur was low in previous years and now it was aimed to increase the figure this year by improving the skills of the students under this project.

Students Nisha, Riya Sharma, Prabhjot Kaur and others  said that 'Mission Excellence' changed the way of their studies and they will definitely excel in the board exams. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Varjeet Walia and Assistant Commissioner Jaspinder Singh were also present.
