Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal today conducted a surprise inspection of the mid-day meal being served to the students of Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) Sangrur. During his visit, the deputy commissioner also sat with the students to eat the meal being served to them to check the quality of the food.

Meanwhile, he also reviewed the ration stock recorded in the mid-day meal register, the process of food preparation, cleanliness in the kitchen, food time table list etc. Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal also interacted with the female students and mid day meal workers and also got feedback about the quality of food being provided on a daily basis. 

In response to the questions asked by the Deputy Commissioner, the students enthusiastically told that they get good and hygienic food. Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal said that the Punjab government has given instructions to ensure the nutrition and quality of the food being served to the students of the government schools, and further instructions have been given to the district officials to implement the same in every government school.

While having mid-day meal with students, DC also asked the students about their goals for life and encouraged them to study diligently to achieve desired goals.
