He said it would first Kabaddi and Kho Kho indoor ground of the State built in Ghonour. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, elated at the prospect of a 4650 square feet gymnasium hall cum sports nursery at University College Ghanour, revealed Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann's advocacy for establishing a minimum of five sports nurseries in each district of Punjab.
She emphasized that expert coaches will be appointed to provide comprehensive sports training, with the facility set to be dedicated to players by June 30, 2024. This collaborative effort, funded by the Punjab government and CSR initiatives, is poised to be a boon for the sportsmen of Ghanour, fostering a vibrant sports culture in the region.
Praveen Kumar Goyal, Executive Director of Bactor's Food Specialist Limited, praised the Punjab government's initiative, recognizing the potential of sports stadiums in villages to provide unparalleled opportunities for aspiring athletes. He confirmed a contribution of Rs. 50 lakhs from Bactor's Food Specialist Ltd. through their CSR fund towards the realization of this sports nursery.
