With an aim to deliver the benefit of healthcare schemes to all eligible beneficiaries, Ayushman Bhava program was launched today at the local civil hospital  wherein a slew of activities will be conducted between September 17 and  October 2, 2023.

Presiding over the event, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Jagraon) Major Amit Sareen said that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surbhi Malik, this program has been launched today durig a district level function and now various programs will be held across government healthcare institutions to spread maximum awareness towards health and fitness. 

He said that special camps would be held in the district on September 17, 23 and 30 to cover all eligible beneficiaries under Ayushman Scheme so that no one was left without this health insurance. Apart from this, blood donation camps will also be organized at the health institutions and also pledge taking events will be held to encourage organ donation, he said adding that cleanliness drive will also be conducted at government health establishments to promote the importance of cleanliness under this program which will mark culmination on October 2.

Pointing out further, Major Amit Sarin said that under this program, awareness will be spread about communicable diseases in the first week, while there will be awareness programs about non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health care in the third week. He added that officials of heath department, rural development, women and child welfare, and other departments are working hard to make this program a success story in the district.
