BSF soldier killed, 7 injured

A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was killed and seven others including four civilians’ sustained injuries when Pakistan Rangers fired on Indian posts along International Border (IB) in winter capital here, official sources said Wednesday.“Pakistan Rangers this morning at around 1140 hrs targeted forward Pittal Post by firing small arms in Arnia Sector,” official sources said, adding three troopers and four labourers working in the fields close to the fence and a BSF jawan of 192 Battalion got injured in the firing.They said the BSF troops also retaliated, adding the soldier later succumbed to his injuries.BSF officials and Pak Rangers yesterday held a flag meeting at Chambliyal Post in Ramgarh sector and discussed the issue of cross border firing and cultivation of ‘sarkanda’ wild buses along the IB.
