Kullu , 18 Jul 2023

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today flagged off the third consignment of two vehicles carrying relief material for the flood affected areas of Kullu district from Raj Bhavan. This relief material has been made available through the State Red Cross.

So far, 7 vehicles of relief material have been sent to the affected areas by the Governor through the State Red Cross. On the occasion, in an informal conversation, the Governor appealed to all non-government organizations to come forward in this hour of hardship.

He also appealed to the people to come forward to help the affected families by contributing to the Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. He said that the situation was improving rapidly after the incidents of floods and landslides following heavy rains in the State, but the process of cloud bursts and landslides was still going on and the most important was to provide quick relief to the affected families, for which the State Government was making concerted efforts.

He said that a central team would also visit Himachal Pradesh to take stock of the damages caused by the natural calamity. Meanwhile, immediate relief has also been provided by the Centre.

Secretary to the Governor Sandeep Kadam and other officials of the State Red Cross Society were also present on the occasion.
