Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is also Working President, National Conference Thursday pooh-poohed the tall claims of opponents (PDP) of National Conference adding that they live in make belief world and would face wrath of people in coming Assembly Elections as their falsehood has amply come to fore.“People have recognized their duality and deceptiveness for power grab. They are not going to fall prey to their propaganda again and again,” he said and added that time and situation has unveiled their real faces and the hidden agenda of bartering the interests of the State to attain power in Jammu and Kashmir to satisfy their selfish ends and the agenda of their New Delhi mentors.According to a statement issued to KNS, addressing largely attended NC Workers Conventions at Kupwara and Lolab in North Kashmir today, the Working President, National Conference said that PDP is the amalgam of turncoats who change colour like chameleon and ideology with changing winds. He said history and every inhabitant of Jammu and Kashmir are witnessed to this characteristic of PDP leadership.“I need not to explain or identify, you are yourself aware of each inpidual leader of PDP rolling from one side to another, one extreme to other and changing the ideology for convenience and personal benefits”, he said and asked the people to go through the history sheet of leadership of PDP to refresh memories about their deceit, falsehood and greed for power. “You know they can go to any extend for power as they have done in past”, he added and maintained that PDP’s reason behind launching propaganda against National Conference is only to veil its real face and pert the attention of people from the conspiracies its leadership has hatched in the past with their Delhi based mentors and are doing the same at present.
Omar said that National Conference has never surrendered its political ideology and development agenda for ‘Naya Kashmir’. “Whether in power or outside of it we have strived for the empowerment and autonomy of the people of the State so that they are in a position to make decisions by them for the welfare of the State and well being of the people”, he said adding that National Conference will continue to strive for socio-economic and political autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir.“We have never compromised on this issue, as such, conspirators outside and their agents within the State are active to confuse the people and defame NC by telling unabated lies particularly to young generation who are not fully aware of the history, sacrifices and sincerity of the leadership and workers of NC party”, Working President, National Conference said and asked Workers to acquaint and apprise the young generation about the struggle, sacrifices, hardships and highhandedness National Conference has faced for upholding the public aspirations and dignity of people.
Omar Abdullah mentioned the historic measures taken by the government for empowerment of people. He also referred to the decision of the Government regarding creations of hundreds of new administrative units across the State and said that process of creation of more such units for left out areas is in full swing.Omar said that PDP which is shedding crocodile tears for people actually opposed all public friendly and historic decisions taken by the Government regarding establishment of Panchayat Raj, creation of new administrative units, rehabilitation policy for youth returning from PoK, welfare measures and initiatives for providing jobs to youth. The General Secretary, National Conference, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Provincial President, Nasir Aslam Wani, District President, Qaisar Jamsheed and Minister, Saifullah Mir also spoke to the conventions among others.
