Director Industries and Commerce, Punjab Dr Amarpal Singh visited Research and Development Centre for Bicycle and Sewing Machine, Ludhiana and Institute for Auto Parts and Hand Tools, Ludhiana yesterday. He reviewed the functioning, facilities and services being provided to Industry by these Centres. 

He appreciated the work being done at both the Centres and directed the respective General Managers to further enhance the interaction with the industry and provide high quality and prompt services. He further directed that latest technology and state of the art high precision machines/ instruments should be procured to provide world class services.

He further informed that under the Scheme of Ministry of Heavy Industries, Govt. of India, both the Institutes have been sanctioned a project of Rs. 10 Crore for upgrading the testing facilities and it will help the MSMEs to get best testing facilities from these institutes.Vishav Bandhu, Joint Director (Technical), Rakesh Pathak GM, R&D Centre and Dr. Sanjiv Katoch GM, IAPHT were also present during the visit.
