As per the breaking news coming from Punjab, a firing incident has happened inside the Bathinda Military Station which has led to the killing of four army soldiers. The incident took place in the early morning around 4:35 am as per the reports. It is also said that it is not a terrorist attack from the outsiders.

As per the Army’s statement, the firing was reported at 4:35 am after which the station quickly came into action and the area was isolated and sealed. Search operation is in progress and the investigation is being conducted by the Army in conjunction with the Punjab Police.

Earlier Police were also not allowed to enter the sealed area but then later were permitted to visit the incident area. As per the police, Army personnel were speculated to be behind this incident as they were denied entrance.

The Army’s statement read, “It has been ascertained that in the unfortunate incident, four army jawans of an artillery unit succumbed to gunshot injuries sustained during the incident. No other injuries to personnel or loss/damage to property have been reported.”

All aspects including the possible case of involvement of an INSAS rifle along with 28 rounds reported missing two days back are being ascertained," the Army further said.

SPS Parmer, the DGP of Punjab reportedly said, “It is not a terrorist attack, it is not an attack from outside. It is a fratricidal incident".
