Two Days State level Tech-fest Utsav-2023 organized at CGC Jhanjeri

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri is organized two days Tech fest at its campus.  Ten thousand students from 60 educational instiutions from north India participated in two days.Live performances by famous Bollywood singer Yasser Desai was the star attractions of the show. 

The events was divided in three categories with twenty eight events. Technical events include Robo race, Line follower, Robo War, Drone competition, project display, logo designing, break the code, Ideation, Lan/mobile gaming, Tech-Debate competition, Surveying competition. 

While Non-Technical events consist of Master Chef, Quiz-o-pedia, Ranggli, Mazim writing, start-up plan, ad Extravaganza, Face painting, poster making, funk from junk, legal debate etc.

Apart from these events, the fest had cultural events including western & choreography group dance, Punjabi & Indian folk dance, Kukkad natak, mimicry & mime, battle of bands, fashion show etc. 

One of the most novel items of this fest was Project Display Competition in which students of various streams from different colleges displayed their innovative and thoughtful working projects as well as non-working models. This competition helped in bringing out ideas from budding engineers.

M D Arsh Dhaliwal while encouraging the students said that such fests help in developing the overall personality of students and generate a spirit of healthy competition among the participants who come from various colleges of different states.

Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said at the moment that the main aim of the festival was to promote breakthroughs in science and technology, scientific thinking and innovation among the youngsters.Total eleven teams from various colleges and universities participated in the rich Punjabi cultural heritage programme. 

In the final competitions, Chitkara University won the first position, CGC Landrain won the second position in the Indian dance competition. In Punjabi heritage, Lovely University bagged the first position and CGC Jhanjeri bagged the second position. Similarly, nine teams participated in the fashion show, in which Chandigarh University got the first position and CGC Jhanjeri got the second position. 

Fifteen teams participated in western dance in which Thapar University secured the first position. Chandigarh University bagged the first position and CGC Jhanjeri bagged the second position in Nukkar Natak. 

In band competitions  thirteen teams participated, while Lovely Professional University secured the first position. Hefty cash prizes, trophies, medals & certificates were also awarded for all events to promote the spirit of competitiveness.
