World Tuberculosis Day 2023 was commemorated at Government Medical College Doda with an awareness lecture and poster-making competition among MBBS students. The event was organised by the Department of Community Medicine under the guidance of Head of Department, Dr Suresh K Kotwal. 

The event aimed to raise public awareness about the devastating health and socio-economic consequences of TB and to step up efforts to eradicate the global TB epidemic. Dr Walied K Balwan delivered a brief note on tuberculosis, its symptoms, treatment and steps to eliminate TB. 

The event was judged by Principal GMC Doda, Dr Pooja Vimesh; Head of Department, Dr Suresh Kotwal; Medical Superintendent, Dr Yudhvir Kotwal; Chief Administrative Officer, Mohd Iqbal; Senior Resident, Dr Walied K Balwan and Junior Resident, Dr Arjun Singh. 

Winners were awarded certificates of achievement and refreshments were provided to participants.
