H&H Deptt Baramulla organises one-day Exhibition cum Awareness Camp for Cooperatives at Dak Bungalow

A daylong Exhibition cum Awareness Camp for Industrial Cooperatives of Baramulla district was today organised by Handicrafts and Handloom Department (H&H Deptt) Baramulla with the theme ‘Encouraging Cooperatives towards Self-reliance’ at Dak Bungalow here. 

A large number of Cooperative societies and aspiring societies of the district showed their enthusiastic participation in the event. The camp was presided over by Assistant Director Handicrafts and Handloom Department Baramulla, Mohammad Hayat while as Assistant Registrar INDUSCOS Baramulla,  Basharat Ahmad Mir was also present on the occasion. 

At the outset, the importance of the event was highlighted and it was reiterated that the programme is being organised across all the districts  under the dynamic leadership of Director Handicraft and Handlooms Kashmir Mehmood Ahmad Shah.

On the occasion, AD Handicrafts & Handloom Baramulla gave a brief presentation on the formation of Cooperatives and benefits provided to them by the department. 

He encouraged the cooperative societies & SHGs for adopting the craft in earning their livelihood. He also emphasized for adopting this heritage trade and carrying forward the legacy to future generations.

While addressing on the event, the AD added that all efforts are being put in to rejuvenate and revive Kashmir handicrafts and handloom thereby bringing visible change in the lives of Artisans and Weavers.

Meanwhile, participants on the occasion were also informed that various basic services of the department have been integrated in JK Single Window System and online services are also available on the portal.

Other guest speakers also delivered lectures on the theme and sensitized the participants about various flagship programmes and schemes available in the department, with special reference to Cooperatives.

Moreover, the Assistant Registrar Cooperative Baramulla provided information about Cooperative self reliant Act 1999. Besides, information about the rich ancestral history of Handicrafts and Handloom in social and economic aspects were also highlighted.
