Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired a meeting of Revenue and Police department to discuss various issues pertaining to District Police Ganderbal. At the outset, brief discussion was held on various issues including land transfer cases,

security to protected persons, illegal mining, security to revenue officers and drug de-addiction activities. After a thorough discussion the DC asked the SSP Ganderbal to povide sufficient protection to the protected persons and government officers in the district.

To curb the illegal mining, police department was asked to putup nakas at identified locations and take strict action against persons involved in illegal mining as per law. While discussing the Revenue cases, the ADC said that revenue papers are submitted to the SSP office for authentication and other formalities for which the DC asked the SSP to process the cases at an earliest.

Regarding drug abuse activities, the SSP Ganderbal said that police department is organizing awareness programmes and other activities regularly in collaboration with other departments besides strict action is initiated against drug peddlers.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar, ADC, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, DySP, Tehsildars, SHOs and other concerned.
