Rodrigues urged Indians to abstain from the 2022 FIFA World Cup by using the microblogging service Twitter. He claimed that Naik is a "terror sympathizer" and an "Indian fugitive sought on charges of money-laundering and hate speeches," and he added that Naik is crucial in the spread of Islamic radicalism and hatred that results in terrorism.
"Islamic values are not universal. Humanity is the only universal value. While I respect the laws of Qatar, Qatar must respect our laws and not give a platform to terror sympathisers like Dr Zakir Naik, a fugitive from India and hate preacher. He is no less than a terrorist," Rodrigues said on Twitter.
