In a move aimed at providing relief to the peasantry in Punjab, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today assured a delegation of small farmers that the State government would frame a policy for payment of tubewell installation costs in installments to Powercom.Badal was interacting with a number of smNall farmers from different parts of the State during his unique on the spot grievances addressal program at the party office here. The farmers requested the Deputy CM to make provisions for marginal tillers to pay the tubewell installation costs in installments. They also thanked the Punjab government for adopting a policy to provide tubewell connections to maximum number of farmers.More than 1000 people across the state today met the Deputy Chief Minister in the Sangat Darshan to redress their grievances and issues. Mr. Badal listened to their grievances very patiently and instructed the concerned officials to resolve their problems immediately. Most people registered their grievances against police, revenue, panchayats and civil cases. Few people also approached the Deputy CM to complain against encroachment of their land by influential people while some forwarded applications for jobs on compassionate grounds.

Badal on his party appealed the visitors that they should not come to him for seeking favour in getting government job as the Punjab government was committed to provide jobs on merit basis only. Terming the Sangat darshan program as a fruitful exercise, Mr Badal said that people were highly benefited from this move as they were able to get their pending issues resolved immediately.A team of senior officers comprising Mr Jangveer Singh Media Advisor to Deputy CM, Mr. P.S. Aujla Principal Secretary to Deputy CM, Mr Sanjiv Kalra IG Security, Mr Ajay Mahajan, Mr Manvesh Singh Sidhu and Mr Rahul Tiwari (all special Principal Secretaries to Deputy CM) were also present on this occasion to help the people in getting done their problems solved.
