They also advised women to go to doctor for screening on regular basis besides self-detection. Experts said that women whose families have the history of breast cancer are more at the risk, therefore, these women should always remain vigilant about their health.

They said it is very difficult to cure breast cancer detected at a later stage. They asked people to change their lifestyle if they wanted to protect them from the risk of cancer. People should take balanced diet and avoid fast food, reduce weight, perform regular yoga and exercise, they suggested.

In his address, Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) briefed the gathering about Krishna Breast Cancer Charitable Trust formed in 2005 in memory of his parents. He recalled that his mother Krishna Arora had left this world at an early age due to late detection of this deadly disease.

The main purpose of forming the Trust was to make as many people possible aware of this deadly disease and treat free of cost poor patients down with this disease. He added Breast Cancer can be completely treated if detected at an early stage. He said breast self- examination (BSE) is the best way of early detection.

Arora said till date Krishna Breast Cancer Charitable Trust has held various camps in various places and treated 178 patients free of cost. Free treatment includes surgery if required and also all the medication. He asked all the participants and the media to create a mass awareness against the disease among the masses.

He added everyone should create awareness considering to save lives of others. “Even if a person saves atleast one life by creating awareness then our mission is successful”, he remarked. He said Trust is also making a short movie for creating awareness against the disease among the masses.

This short movie will be released in the next 2-3 days, he added.Speaking on the occasion, Kaustubh Sharma, Commissioner of Police Ludhiana, thanked Sanjeev Arora, MP for arranging today’s camp specially for female police personnel.
