The Cash Committee of Government College Of Education, Jammu today organised an Inter-College Essay Writing Competition on the theme, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.”Prof. Aekta Gupta, Principal of the college was the Chief Guest, while Prof. Shalini Rana presented the formal welcome address. 

Students from different colleges of Cluster University participated in the event. Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Convener of the program, in the inaugural session, highlighted the importance of gender equality and the significance of such programs for gender sensitization.

The chief guest of the program asserted that gender was a social construct otherwise nature has not discriminated between any gender.The participating students from across different Colleges, through their creative writing, expressed their views about the importance of gender equality to have a justifiable, equitable and sustainable world tomorrow. 

The Essays were examined by Dr. Sonia Khajuria of GCW Parade. Later, in the valedictory session, prizes were presented to the winners.The first prize was bagged by Nitya Sharma of GCOE, Jammu. The second and third prizes were bagged by Ritik Kumar of SPMR College of Commerce and Akshar Goswami of MAM College, respectively.

The program was conducted by Prof. Shalini Rana. The CASH Committee members who participated in the program were Dr. Deep Kumar Bangotra, Prof. Ramandeep  Kralia, Dr. Sushma Bala,  Dr. Maansi Sharma, Prof. Rubina, Prof. Vinay Lata. 

The student organizers were Anu Bagal, Arushi Sharma, Rashmi Singh and Mehak Khajuria. Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Vinay Lata.
