Former External Affairs Minister and Member Parliament from Patiala Preneet Kaur along with Biba Jai Inder Kaur today inaugurated the new 28 hundred feet long and nearly 90 feet wide Rajmata Mohinder Kaur memorial park prepared at a cost of Rs 85 Lakhs at Sheesh Mehal, Road (Machi Talaw) Patiala.

Addressing the people of the area and locality MP Preneet Kaur said, "It is my pleasure to dedicate this park to the people today on the special occasion of Rajmata Mohinder Kaur Ji's 100th Birth Anniversary. Rajmata Ji is an inspiration to all of us, she was a very compassionate person who dedicated her life to the upliftment of people of Patiala and Punjab."

She further said that, "During Captain Amarinder Singh Ji's tenure a lot of development works were undertaken in Patiala and among other things many new parks and playgrounds were developed. This place used to be a fish pond earlier and was in very bad condition with residents battling diseases because of the garbage being spewed in the locality. 

But now with the development of this park not only will the people of the area benefit from this, but Patiala city will take another step towards overall beautification."Talking about the park Biba Jai Inder Kaur said, "Thousands of people living in Sheesh Mahal Colony, New Sheesh Mahal Colony, Pathak Vihar, Sanjay Colony Block-1, 2, 3, Satya Enclave, Kesar Bagh Colony, Jyoti Enclave, Sanjay Colony etc. will benefit from this park as they will be able to exercise besides taking in the beautification."

On this occasion, apart from Mayor Sanjiv Sharma Bittu, Deputy Mayor Vinti Sangar, District President of PLC KK Malhotra, Former PRTC Chairman KK Sharma, Pawan Bhumak, Darshan Baba, Councilor Sandeep Malhotra, Nikhil Batish Sheru, Harish Nagpal, Sonu Sangar, Shammi Denter, a large number of PLC supporters including Leela Rani, Promila Mehta, Nathu Ram, Rajinder Sharma, Harish Kapoor, Sanjay Sharma, Gopi Rangeela and youth leader Anuj Khosla were present at the occasion.
