The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers of Civil, Police, paramilitary and Army at Mini-Secretariat here to discuss and finalize arrangements to ensure smooth transportation of fruits and vegetables to outside Valley.

During the meeting, the DDC took a detailed review of security arrangements put in place across the district in this regard to ensure smooth movement of fruit and vegetable laden trucks.The DDC directed the concerned officers to strictly enforce traffic diversion plans especially during the peak fruit season. 

He impressed upon the officers to sensitize officials at checking points for better regulation and management of traffic for smooth passage of fruit trucks.He also asked them to maintain a proper time schedule for inbound and outbound traffic besides regular monitoring of the critical points.

Highlighting the need for effective coordination, Dr Bilal impressed upon the officers to form a team of officials at various checkpoints in the district for identification of fruit trucks and their proper passage.The meeting was attended by A-SP, ACR, commanding officer CRPF 18th BTn, ARTO, DySP traffic Kulgam/Qazigund, Tehsildar Hq, Area Marketing Officer Kulgam and other officers.
